Need Help Filing an Application for Travel?

Travel Restrictions for Immigrants

Those that wish to travel outside of the Unites States while their permanent visa application is being processed need to file form I-131. This form, also known as an application for travel document, must be included with multiple photos of yourself and a written document that explains the reason for your leave. There is a fee of $165 to file the document. If you are interested in leaving the United States while your visa is being processed, it is important to speak with a Tempe immigration lawyer that can ensure you are filing the travel application correctly and improve your chances of getting approved.

Our attorneys understand that as an immigrant, much of your life exists outside of the United States and it requires your attention from time to time. In addition, you may wish to visit your family or simply have business that needs to be tended to. Generally, permission to leave the United States while your application is being processed (also known as advanced parole), is restricted to important business or family affairs such as a funeral or wedding. An attorney can help you to provide documentation that demonstrates your need to leave the country

Fighting for Your Rights

Form I-512 is given those that are granted their petition for advance parole. This form will contain all of information regarding your travel application such as the date that you are expected back in the United States. It is extremely important to return by the date that is given on Form I-151 otherwise you may not be allowed back into the country upon your return. Having your documentation in order is extremely important if you are considering becoming a lawful permanent resident or a citizen. Staying in the United States illegally or leaving without notifying the USCIS is not worth the heartbreak that you may suffer if your immigration status is denied you later on. If you have any questions regarding applications for travel, we would be happy to help you. Please call LawCenter PLC today so that we can assist you.
